Anyone interested or knowledgeable about seeing machine repair and operation. A couple of us are meeting at the Makers Space fri at noon to check out the three we have and make sure they’re up and running. Anyone with knowledge or interest is welcome.
We got all the machines running, minus the leather machine. They all need to be cleaned and oiled before mass use.
There is a cabinet singer sewing machine. We are on the fence about. Here’s the basics of that machine:
Very early upgraded singer with a zigzag stitch rig that looks very bulking and hasn’t been tested to run or work. Could be done on another machine.
What it has that is unique: it has a very early single chain, no bobbin, chain stitch. The plate rotation is working but the tensions need cleaning and oiling so they’re more precise. But would be a fun thing to have for the historical representation as a mascot piece…
Biggest problem: electrically suspicious:
The plastic case housing is cracked which could affect ground stability. The electrical cord needs to be upgraded for grounding support. Could be easy, could be difficult or impossible depending on interior.
I am willing to put in the work but would like knowledgeable input regarding repair versus removal.

This is amazing. I’m so excited to get my hands on her. We wanted to get the “easy” machines running first. She’s honestly a little intimidating, 
but after her little table sister, fondly named Susie Singer 603, and watching the video, I think I’m ready to see her run in person! I’m glad i know who to call on, now!
